Departure from Hanoi
With a sense of anticipation and adventure, I kick-started my Honda CRF 250, ready to explore the wonders that lay ahead on this journey from Hanoi to Cao Bang and Tach Ban Gioc Waterfall. Accompanied by my knowledgeable tour guide, Hai from We Ride Vietnam Motorbike Tours, we embarked on an exhilarating expedition.
Day 1: That Khe and Highway 4 Battle Sites
Our first stop was That Khe, a historical site along Highway 4 where significant battles occurred during the Vietnam War. Standing amidst remnants of the past, the echoes of history whispered through the air, creating a poignant atmosphere. It was a humbling experience to witness the resilience of the Vietnamese people in the face of adversity.
Day 2: That Khe to Thac Ban Gioc
As we rode further, the landscape transformed, revealing the breathtaking beauty of Quang Uyen. After relaxing we navigated through Ha Lang and Trung Khanh. The roads were a motorcyclist\’s dream—twisting and turning through lush forests and mountainsides. Each curve revealed a new vista, showcasing Vietnam\’s diverse and stunning landscapes.
Day 3: Cao Bang City – Pac Bo Cave
Our journey led us to Cao Bang City, a bustling hub nestled amidst nature\’s bounty. The city\’s vibrant energy was a contrast to the serene beauty of the countryside. We immersed ourselves in the local culture, savoring delicious cuisine and engaging with friendly locals, learning about their way of life.
A visit to Pac Bo Cave added another layer to our adventure. This historical site held immense significance as it served as a hideout for Ho Chi Minh during Vietnam\’s struggle for independence. Final Leg to Ba Be Lake National Park
The last stretch of our journey led us to the enchanting Ba Be Lake National Park. The roads meandered through dense forests, unveiling glimpses of the tranquil lake.
