Every season in Vietnam has its own beauty and unique colour. Spring is from February to April and you will see different shades of green everywhere in the north. This is usually the best time to ride.
Summer lasts for approximately 5 months through to the end of November. It is also the rainy season.
The scenery in the mountains is both colourful and diverse and that is when the rice harvest takes place. September and October you will see stunning views of the rice terraces where the whole landscape turns yellow. The experience is amazing.
Winter starts from mid November and lasts until early February.
You should book your own hotel in Hanoi, you can try websites like Agoda.com * they have competitive prices with what you can book in person. We will meet you and take you to our office where you will be briefed on the tour schedule. You will be given a map, all riding gear including wet weather gear, helmets if required, waterproof bags, and saddle bags.
* We don’t endorse Agoda.com but they seem to do a good job and have good pricing.
We can book you any hotel in Hanoi or in any other city that you request. We recommend a standard hotel (2-3) stars in order to save costs. The rates are usually $40-$70 USD per night.
We can also arrange airport welcome pickup and farewell departure to and from hotel, at your request.
Our Tours are All-inclusive, which means we pay for everything on tour except alcohol and personal purchases that you make.
Just as a rule of thumb our experience has shown that you should carry approximately $100 to $200 US or equivalent in Vietnam Dong. However, this depends entirely on the length of the ride and is used mainly for your own personal souvenir shopping and alcoholic beverages. (Local beers are around $1USD per 330ml/can) 🙂
We will send you a packing list and tips that can be useful for your motorbike journey through Vietnam.
It is strongly recommended that you obtain travel insurance in your own country and include cover for the riding of motorcycles up to 650cc. Make sure it includes health and emergency evacuation coverage.
That depends on where you want to go. In the northern mountains, a distance of approximately 150-200 km or 5-6 hours of riding is normal for trip lengths of 2 to 12 days. This also includes trip lengths of 14 days to explore the Northeast and Northwest combined.
Meanwhile, the Ho Chi Minh trail tour provides longer distances of 200-300kms or 6-8 hours per day of riding with trip lengths of 10 to 14 days. (depending on whether the tour ends in Hoi An or Ho Chi Minh City.)
The roads in Vietnam are narrow, busy, and very twisty, average speeds are 40-60 km. 350km is a LONG day in Vietnam, we schedule our rides to be safe and take time to enjoy the people and places along the way.
Nowadays in Vietnam, Internet and WiFi coverage is everywhere, even in the deepest valleys and highest hills. We recommend You buy a local SIM card and phone number for $5USD and top up credits for 5$-10$ usd for 4G data plan and easily communicate while on tour with family and friends.
- We will ask you to place a deposit in advance of $300 USD for each person to confirm your booking.
- We will provide the bank account details for you to easily transfer the deposit.
- The tour must be paid in full before departure
- You can pay in cash ( $USD) or by credit card + 3% fees, or by bank transfer.
- We cover all costs while on tour except for alcohol (beers are less than 1 $USD and any personal items you purchase)
Do not worry about that. We will arrange this for you and find a local rider with a wealth of experience and you can sit behind as a pillion passenger. However, an additional cost will have to be paid for this person.
Yes. We can arrange the tour to accommodate the family either in a 16-seat minibus or 4-seat 4X4 vehicle depending on the number. However, you will have to pay extra for car rental. Contact us for price quote
